Driving Safely is Very Important

Driving safely is very important for people of all ages. It is imperative that you take all the right precautions to make sure that you are driving as safely as possible. There are many distractions nowadays and you need to stay focused. There are phones, friends, family and just the basic things that are around us. There are many things that we can do to prevent the thousands of fatalities that we face each year with driving. The privilege of driving should be taken very seriously and we should all drive as safely as possible.

In America there is an average of 34,000 people that die each year resulting from driving. I can guarantee that drivers education helps prevent more of those deaths than there is now. Drivers education teaches teenagers ways to drive safely and it helps them form good habits. During driver’s education you get to watch many videos that illustrate safe ways of driving and on the other hand, you are shown some of the videos that exemplify the repercussions of your actions if you don’t drive safely.

There are many things that you can do to help you improve your driving. Some things that I have done to help improve my driving is putting my phone away from me so that I can’t reach it. Not only that, but if you feel drawn to your phone all the time you could put your phone in the backseat if it is that big of a distraction for you. Yes, phones are a big distraction, but family and friends can also become a distraction when it comes to driving. A distraction is anything that takes your eyes off the road and sometimes when you are driving around in the car with others it may become hectic. Not only should you want to be comfortable driving, but you should make sure that others in your car are comfortable. I have been in the car with someone before and they were attempting to text and drive, causing them to swerve, so in reaction to that I took their phone away from them because I wasn’t comfortable with them being distracted. Not only is driving safe important for you, but it is important to others that you are driving and the other drivers around you.
