The importance of safe driving

Driving is a task that requires concentration and coordination. But, because of the lack of these two skills due to drinking and texting, thousands of accidents occur. More changes can be made in order to prevent individuals from getting into these tragic accidents. Everyone knows that one is not supposed to drive while texting, but they still do it regardless. Why? Cause they think it won’t happen to them. Not just our family members but other adults such as our driving school teachers should stress the importance of being focused on the road. I just got my learners permit about 2 months ago, and when I’m driving, let’s just say I don’t take my eyes off of the road. It is extremely important as we know that we can only control our actions and not the others driving. Other drivers may not turn their signal lights on, but we still have to remain cautious and be focused on the road or otherwise we’ll get into an accident.

I was driving with my driving teacher one morning, and there was a taxi dropping someone off at their location. Just as I’m about to drive past him, since he’s on the side, he quickly drives in front of me, not turning his signals on. That, is exactly why we need to be pay close attention on the road, instead of being distracted. Personally, I feel as though all possible measures that are already taken to prevent an accident, is already taken. Giving someone a ticket for texting and driving is effective, because no one wants to get a ticket! But no one realizes that this was put in order to prevent these accidents.

I’ve personally never been in a car accident, but my mom has. The car accident happened due to slippery toads on a rainy night. My family members are very responsible with their driving, they take it very seriously as do I. There can be different steps we all can make in order to make sure we prevent accidents. When it comes to texting and driving, drivers should pull over and check their phone, if its something important. Another alternative is instead of you using the phone, you have the person in the car with you, respond to the text. As for drinking and driving, they shouldn’t drive at all.Drivers should either stay at the place where they were, or they should get an uber to their home. Instead of having someone under the influence of alcohol, they’ll have a safe drive home with no accidents.

All in all, driving is something that should be taken seriously, and accidents should be prevented as much as possible. We should be responsible enough to prevent these tragedies and to try not to put ourselves in these situations.We should want to take these measures in order to not risk our lives.Our lives mean much more than a piece of technology.
