Driver’s Education and Safety

Driver’s Education is crucial to the safety of drivers on the roads. Many things can be learned through it. The goal of driver’s education is to teach individuals how to properly drive and follow rules and guidelines to be safe while doing so. Being safe is the number one priority for drivers because a lot is at risk when one is driving irresponsibly. The lives of others are at risk when one person does not consider the risks of driving irresponsibly.

There are many things that can be done for reducing the number of deaths from car crashes. Humans, especially teens, are constantly distracted by their phones. Social media such as Snapchat or Instagram distract teens. When one is on their phone, the risk of a crash increases tremendously. This needs to be watched and monitored so that those people do not put at risks the lives of everyone around them. There is a great way to solve this.

New technology for cars is coming out where they are trying to make all cars self-driving. This means that they do not need a human driver to control them. This is proven to greatly reduce fatalities from car crashes. This would allow those teenagers to be on their phones while the car is driving. IT could get a drunk person home safely. It can allow a tired person to fall asleep without being at the wheel. Also, one must know that human error will always remain. It is impossible to get rid of human errors because not a single person is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, even those who you are closest to.

My family members are all very disciplined when it comes to driving. My parents stressed not to be on our phones or anything else that will distract us. Personally, I have never seen someone close to me die from a car crash or get severely injured. I am extremely thankful for this because I know there are many who do have this. I do know of some of my friends that drive with their phones in hand constantly. This can be so terrifying to me because losing a close friend is not something anyone wants.

To become a better driver myself, it is always good for me to have someone in my car with me to do the things that I need to do on my phone. When a passenger can do these so that I won’t be distracted, we are both at less of a risk from a car crash. It is also helpful to put your phone somewhere where it isn’t seeable or accessible. Overall, I think patience in driving is key to being a good driver. When you are rushed, you tend to do things that you normally wouldn’t do when calm and collected.
