Safe Driving

The purpose of Drivers Ed is to ensure that teen drivers know the dangers of driving and to learn how to drive safe. Teenagers should know that one mistake can turn into a tragic accident. By having people go through the driver education program, it can reduce the number of deaths from driving. One of the first steps to help reduce death from driving is of course making them go through driver’s education. This helps drivers learn about road signs and know about the law. Another step can be to continue educating drivers even after they have passed and gotten their licenses. I feel like it is necessary to continue coaching amateur drivers for a little bit more even after they pass to help them make less mistakes and know that even after they passed, they still need to be cautious and move with warning. Many think that once they pass, they have the license forever but in actuality they can be revoked because of disobeying law and such. So, by educating infant drivers even after they passed can help them keep in mind that they are not alone on the road and that they have many more things to learn and be careful about on the road.

Even with long timed experienced drivers there can still be some kind of accident whether it was their fault or the other persons. One time, when I was still an elementary student, my mom had an accident. Although it did not cause any huge damage to the car, the force from the brake was still pretty rough. And as a kid I was playing around with the seat back so when my mom hit the brakes, my whole face came crushing into the back. This caused so much pain. After getting out of the car I found out that the problem was because the other driver was not paying attention to the light and drove up to turn when it was not their light. Although I know this did not cause any physical harm, it still gave the driver a smack in the head. I am pretty sure with this accident they learned to be more attentive to the road and not let their guard down when driving.

From this accident and a few more along the way, I realized the most important factor is to learn how to be a safe driver myself. It ends in with whether I can drive carefully and whether I can follow the rules. If I cannot learn how to drive properly then how can I expect others to. The best step to ensure that I become a better and safe driver is to never let my guard down. No matter how many times I drive and get used to it, never let go of the thoughts of possible accidents and mistakes. If I can learn to be a safer driver then that at least it keeps me and other people around me when driving safe.
