Distracted Driving

Growing up in a major city that is filled with people who are always in a rush to be somewhere it is common to see people being involved in accidents. No one knows that they are going to be in an accident until a few moments before. Being knowledgeable and being aware of all the risks that driving comes with and why you need to have full attention to the road every time you are driving will reduce the number of deaths that come from distracted driving. Texting and driving is a simple thing that has taken the lives of so many people. Leaving your phone to the side or simply turned off would have saved thousands of lives. This is something I do and think everyone else should do so you are fully attentive to the road and save you and everyone else on the road. Living in California with its constant traffic and the impatience of other drivers you sometimes experience being in a car accident. In my life, I have experienced 2 accidents as a passanger. That shock that goes through your body once an accident occurs is something you never want to feel. I often have flashbacks and nightmares of the accidents I have been in. This is something I hate experiencing and as a driver I make sure I am extra careful and safe on the road. Steps that should be done and think would help others is not to be so aggressive when driving, be polite, and understand that even though you need to be somewhere another person might be going through something, and yelling at them will make affect their driving capabilities. Driving is a privilege that some people have so we need to be careful and be safe on the road because we aren’t the only driver on the road.
