Driving Killers

Driving is something people do daily. Whether you drive or someone else does, it is needed to get around in today’s day and age. This comes with a price, however. While many people need to drive, this has also caused a great increase in deaths and/or injuries due to car accidents. Driver Education is a key factor in making car accident-related injuries/deaths occur less often. This is because driver education helps to teach kids the proper rules of the road and the rules of being behind the wheel. That way, they know how to handle themselves and the vehicle on the roads. Because driving is all about trust. A driver must trust their abilities and trust, other drivers, on the road to also be capable of driving. One way that can help reduce the number of car accidents is making it a requirement to take some sort of driver’s education course where you are behind the wheel with a licensed instructor. This will help to make sure that any new drivers are driving as safely and responsibly as possible. This will also make accidents less likely to happen. I experienced irresponsible driving when I was a child. My parents got divorced in 2005 when I was two. My dad got custody so I would only see my mom like two times a week. When she would drive us back to her apartment or anywhere, she would drive with her knee so that she could text someone or respond to a tweet or something like that. I was scared of my mom getting angry and yelling at me that I never told my parents until years later after I stopped talking to her. I realize now that I should have said something because she was endangering her, as well as my sister’s and my safety. She could have killed us. I use this experience to remember to turn do not disturb on my phone when I am driving, that way, I can’t get distracted by my phone. This can be done by anyone with a phone just by pressing one button. This small act can help to save people’s lives and reduce the number of accidents on the road. Another problem that happens a lot on the road is people speeding. Examples of this are people trying to speed through things like lights and stop signs. This causes t-bones or fender bent. One way to possibly stop this is to have radar stations set up at high-speed intersections to help police locate when and where these speed demons are. This is something small, but it can help to reduce how many people speed into intersections and cause accidents.
