Drivers Education Essay
There are many factors that go into the importance of drivers education, all of which decrease the number of deaths that are a result of reckless driving. Drivers education is there to teach you the rules of the road and what you can and cannot do. It teaches you the steps you must take before, while, and after driving. The lack of education is the reason why so many deaths occur. The lack of education can put the lives of yourself, the passengers, and any other surroundings at risk.
First, we must talk about the steps once you enter the vehicle and before you drive. The first step is to check your mirrors, make sure your surroundings are in your view from the side mirrors and rear mirror. While driving, it is important to always use turn signals before moving lanes or turning. It is also important to slow down, stop, or move to the side when a pedestrian is in your view. Respect all signs and traffic lights at all times, and always obey the speed limit. Once you have gotten to your destination, make sure to set the barke, place it in park and turn it off. These steps can reduce the numbers of accidents, since it’s the way to obey road rules.
Luckily, I have never been involved in an accident, but I have an aunt and uncle that drive irresponsibly. My aunt and uncle are pretty fast drivers and go above the speed limit. They make their turns pretty. At traffic lights, they get pretty close to other vehicles instead of giving them space. One of my neighbors also drives irresponsibly. In our neighborhood it is a 25 mph speed limit, and in turns it’s about 10-15 mph. My neighbor does not slow down at the turn, but turns at the 25 mph. One time, my parents caught her as she almost crashed into us and she almost lost control because she swerved.
Steps to become a better driver are fairly simple. One must first take the written test about drivers education. From there, you must get enrolled with a driving instructor to show you when the rules apply and how to obey the traffic laws. After earning your permit, you can then take the driving portion of the test. You can rely on what you learned through diver’s education to insure your safety. Remember it is important to obey all signs, and respect the speed limit and always keep your eyes on the road and surroundings. And most importantly! Remember that it is a MUST that you should never drink and drive or have any type of alcohol before or while driving.
