Why Driver’s Education is Necessary

Driving a car is something that most people do not think twice about. In fact, it is a huge part of most of our lives. Whether it be commuting to and from work or school, running errands, or even going to see grandma, it plays an important part in our lives. Sadly, though, many people do not carry out driving properly and safely. One of the most effective ways to prevent poor driving is to take some sort of driver’s education class.

Driver’s education is extremely important when it comes to operating a vehicle. Not only does it allow a person to properly drive a vehicle, but it teaches them to do it safely and possibly save lives. Driver’s education teaches the proper etiquette when driving a vehicle. This goes from properly merging lanes down to how to pull out of the parking lot, and everything in between. Highway fatalities are way too high in today’s society, and driver’s education main point is to prevent more fatalities. It teaches both how to prevent crashes and how to avoid them as well. If not obvious, the easiest way to prevent more deaths in driving is to make a driver’s education class necessary to either pass high school or to get your driver’s license.

From personal experience, I have seen way too many friends and family perform irresponsible driving. That being from texting and driving, to looking off the road often, to driving way too fast on wet roads. Let me tell you, it is not a fun sight seeing someone driving, with your life in their hands, driving very dangerously. It is the main reason that people wreck and die each year. Yeah, I know that accidents happen, even when both drivers are paying attention, but many, if not most, accidents are caused by at least one driver being preoccupied or distracted. For example, one of my girlfriend’s friend wrecked leaving her house one day by dipping into the ditch while simply changing her music in her car. If there were a car to be coming, they would have no doubt collided head on, potentially killing one, if not both, drivers.

In today’s society, everybody is very competitive, they always want to be the best. Why not be the best and safest driver? One of the easiest and most effective ways to become safe is to, you guessed it, take a driver’s education course. It is the least that somebody could do. Not only will it save your life, but 10 times out of 10, save somebody else’s life. In my personal life, I have already taken a driver’s education course in high school, and it has hands down made me a better driver, but if I could I would take an advanced driver’s education course, and if I can, get certified to teach driver’s education. Not only do I want to practice safe driving, but I also want to teach society how to become better drivers.

In conclusion, driver’s education is extremely important today with all the distractions that is in vehicles today. From preventing deaths on the highways to becoming a better driver all together, driver’s education is a necessity. No matter what perspective you look at it, driver’s education saves lives and helps society grow safely.
