Drive Safetly

In the United States, statistics show that an average of 3,700 people die each day driving on the road, with approximately 1.3 million people in road crashes every year. Car crashes are the leading cause of death and injury for all ages.

Driving on the road when distracted, drunk, under the influence of drugs, or texting causes car accidents or fatal consequences. Statistics show a high number of people that lack basic driving knowledge and chooses to ignore safety driving habits are up to 76.2 %.

To lower this result, Divers Ed can provide the education drivers need to drive skillfully and safely—to protect themselves and other drivers on the road. Being an educated driver is very important because it will aid in reducing the number of death and the risk of getting into an accident.

When a driver is educated, they understand the significant traffic laws and road rules, how to safely operate a vehicle and safe defensive driving habits. Driver ed will help drivers learn the proper skills and education to gain better driving habits to becoming an excellent driver. For example, in driver ed training, the driver learns techniques such as driving maneuvers, Proper strategies for emergence situations, and up to date road and warning signs. Driver ed is a critical roadway preparation for drivers and can ensure lower accident rates and facilities to drivers.

The number of death related to driving will decrease if drivers take a driver ed or defensive driving course. Behind the wheel, training will provide drivers with visual awareness, safety driving practices, and maintaining drivers’ readiness that will help them when driving on a busy interstate or in dangerous circumstances. Government, law enforcement, and the department of transportation need to set out measures and action plans to reduce the number of people killed or injured n the road, improve road safety, and implement penalties for those that continue to ignore these measures.

Implementing effective interventions such as enforcing existing laws and regulations, requiring universal safe vehicle standards, and launching safe campaigns or programs to raise awareness of the factors that can lead to a car accident.

Drivers sometimes do not realize the important safety features of a seatbelt until put at great risk. A long time ago, when coming back from an event and going on a green light, a car from the opposite car sped really fast to cross a light that was already red, if I did not stop and have my seatbelt on, we would have crashed or I would be flying through my front window. I had a scratch on my neck from the immediate stop but I am still alive today because of my seatbelt. Also, the first thing I do as I enter the car is put on my seatbelt and make sure that it is tightened and anyone that I drive with must have their seatbelt on too.

In order to become a better and safe driver, drivers should make sure to learn all the necessary rules of the road, have the skill to control the vehicle or handle any situations on the road, and being self-discipline while driving. Drivers can help others by encouraging them by being responsible when in the car with others, spread awareness of safe driving, and remind them to buckle their seatbelt and not to drive distracted.

Following simple basic courtesy and safety like using turn signals, keeping a steady focus on the road, above all else, wearing your seatbelt, and drive smoothly can make you a better and would reduce the number of accidents facilities.
