Education serves to teach knowledge to a person about a certain subject, with the intention of them learning such instructions with clarity. Driving education is one of the most important general types of education due to several reasons. The most popular way of transportation is via land in either car, bus, motorcycles, trucks, and so on. There are laws to follow in order to maintain an organized driving experience and prioritize safety, therefore learning them efficiently and in depth is important. Unfortunately, the number of deaths in the United States’ highways, has greatly surpassed the already elevated number of fatalities in most United States’ combats. (DMV EDU, 2020). For every problem, a solution must be found. Motor vehicle accidents need to be reduced greatly, for the purpose of enhancing the protection and well being of drivers all around the country. Several precautions should highly be taken into consideration while driving. For example, all passengers should wear their seat belts at all times while being inside a vehicle. Also road signs and traffic lights should be observed with close attention to know how to properly drive around that certain zone. Driving while intoxicated with drugs or alcohol should never be tolerated by anyone under any circumstance. Although it is an illegal act, it is still something people do and as a consequence, it causes many kinds of terrible accidents even to nearby drivers. Many pedestrians usually do not follow the laws given to walk, therefore drivers need to also pay attention to pedestrians close by to prevent injuries or tragedies. Another example of poor decision making is texting while driving. Technology can be so distracting, but it is highly important to keep in mind that a simple text could wait.

Before being on the road, all drivers need to be fully aware of all laws. A great and very efficient way to prepare young or new drivers to drive properly is to go through a well structured drivers education program. These programs are designed to ensure enough and correct knowledge is passed on to these drivers. Once it is time for the driver to acquire their license, they must take a driving test. This is a great way to evaluate their learned abilities. Accidents could happen to anyone, so even when being just on the passenger’s seat, one must be aware of their surroundings and environment. I work as a personal caregiver for a quadriplegic young lady who besides being paralyzed, she also suffers from multiple other diseases or conditions such as scoliosis and bed sores. She shares her story as a way to raise awareness against drunk driving. Her accident happened just a few weeks after graduating high school. Her and some friends were leaving a party and the driver was drunk. He passed a red light and a semi trailer truck hit them right on the passenger side where she was sitting, leaving her instantly paralized. She was miraculously saved and has grown to be such an inspiring and strong individual who has proposed herself to make a change about driving accidents. That is something we should all strive for, the safety of many depend on it.
