Safe Driving
Safe Driving
Safe driving is very important every single day. Driver education is important in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving because we go through the class as a learning tool for driving. It teaches students how to make the proper stop at a certain distance, turn your turn signal on when turning left or right, following the proper speed limits on roads and highways, and parking properly in a parking lot.
Driver education is very important for being able to get a license because we all need to know all of the safe and proper driving techniques. There are steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving such as, obey traffic laws, be predictable, avoid distractions, drive rested, and steer clear of alcohol and drugs. Such distractions can be your cellphone, friends, the radio, animals, and just being tired. Wearing your seatbelt can save your life in most accidents. When I first got my license it had been a week and my dog acted as if he was going to run in front of me so when I slammed on my brakes my brakes went out and I crashed into a tree. This was very scary considering I had bruises from my seat belt and steering wheel.
My friends text and drive all the time, which is the number one cause of teenage deaths related to driving. For me to be a better and safer driver I could take the steps of note texting and driving, avoiding my friends trying to distract me, pay attention to every single traffic law, wear my seatbelt at all times, drive the speed limit, and pay attention to the road at all times.
I can help others become safer drivers by not distracting them while they are driving, making sure they wear their seatbelt, take their phone from them while they are driving, make sure they pay attention to the road, and obey all the laws of traffic.
Most teenagers do not understand how dangerous a vehicle is no matter the size of the vehicle. They do not understand that you should not mess around while behind the wheel of a vehicle because you hold in your hands the life of yourself and anyone else who might be in your car. Teenagers and adults both do not quite understand the major cause of death with a vehicle is texting and driving.
People text and drive everyday and I can not tell you how many times I have heard the excuse, “I have had my license for so many years, I know what I am doing.” The people that say that are just irresponsible and do not care about the safety of themselves or others around them. They are putting themselves and others at risk of dying due to texting and driving. Starting with myself, my friends, and those I can I can influence, we must stop texting and driving. This useless destruction of property and endangering all those involved must be stopped now!
