Driving for Me
Driving for Me
Driving for me has always been something that I take very seriously and have never taken for granted. I started to learn about driving safety from a young age as my mother would tell me little things each day coming home from school such as using turn signals, stop signs, and the meaning of different colors on the lights. I think those little things that my mother told me as a child help me realize how important driver safety actually is. Driver education for me is very important and I think it should be prioritized in a child’s educational career. In terms of reducing the number of deaths, driver education is where the roots of knowledge is placed in someone’s head and their way of thinking. I don’t think that driver education is 100% responsible for deaths caused by driving but the lack of education on driving would definitely play a major factor in the knowledge of the driver. When you possess knowledge that has been gained from driving education it does not increase your ability to drive better but it increases the safety of your driving and plays a role in how you react in certain cases. I think that there are some steps that can be taken to reduce the amount of deaths related to driving and it has to do with both driving education and transportation engineering. When it comes to driver education I believe that it can be placed under a higher level importance in the education world, I know that there is driver education that mandatory to complete in order to obtain a license but alot of people dont put in much effort to the educational program itself and it has become easy to obtain a license. When it comes to transportation engineering I believe there is still much more room for improvement in many states. Transportation engineers are coming up with new technologies such as fiber optic technology to improve the efficiency of communication with the signals on the roads. Transportation engineers are also taking steps to make roads safer by designing roads with speed bumps in specified areas to help slow down traffic causing less accidents. I myself have been in a car accident before that was caused by a driver not paying attention to the other cars on the road. The driver of the vehicle I was in tried crossing a street without looking to her right and we ended up getting tail boned on the right hand side of the car. It simply her not bothering to look to her right that ended up totaling her car and endangering her own son and his friend. Some steps that I have taken to become a better and safer driver is that I always have my phone out of reach from me, I have bluetooth in my car so I set the music and then place my phone on a holder on the passenger air vent so I can still see it but I cannot answer it. I have actually gotten some of my friends to adapt my technique and they like it because they can still see it but it helps not having it reach so you can focus on your driving. This technique for me has helped me put my full attention into driving and paying attention to the road. This is driving for me, what is driving for you ?
