Driving safe saves lives!

Safe driving saves lives! It breaks my heart knowing that someone passed away because a driver decided to drive drunk. It’s not always drunk drivers. Many other reasons can cause an accident. There was a case where an 8-month pregnant woman was walking and the driver hit her. It looks like the driver was under the influence of drugs. Sadly the women did not make it but the baby did. They did a c-section to save the baby. This could’ve been a happy family. Every driver needs to know the importance of driving. The importance of driver education will reduce the number of deaths. Drivers’ education will give awareness to those people so they know that their driving matters. Can you imagine a reckless driver driving into you? Being a careless and uninformed driver puts the drivers’ lives in danger. Steps that should be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving obey the traffic laws. It is important to know what drivers can do and cannot do. This will prevent any accidents from happening. Then avoid any distractions such as phones. Texting someone else can wait. I always tell whoever is driving, it is better to get there safely than not. Distractions are the number 1 cause of car accidents. Driving well-rested is the next step. Make sure you have enough sleep. This will help because without you knowing, you can fall asleep while driving. Lastly, be responsible. If you or someone is drinking late at night, do not drive. There are so many cases that people passed away because there are so many irresponsible drivers. I’ve been in a car accident and it was because the other driver did not follow the traffic laws. A train was passing and we were stuck. The other driver decided to use the yellow lane to pass everyone and get to his destination. He accidentally hit us and he did not stop to see if we were okay. He just kept going and turned. The good thing is that there was no serious injury and I am just glad that everyone in the car was okay.

I do not have a driver’s license. Yes, I know that I am old enough to get one but driving school is expensive and I do not have anyone to teach me the basics. This essay will help me become a better driver. I know what exactly I have to do to prevent any accidents. Steps that I would take to be a better and safer driver as well as helping others become safer on the road is to know the traffic laws. With my experience, this opens my eyes to know what to do when driving. Also, avoid any distractions. It is 2020 and many use their phone as a GPS or text other people. It does not matter if it is an emergency but phones should be put away unless they have a phone car holder. I am glad that I took the time to research driving and how it important it is. Now I know what I should be cautious about. Like I said, It is better to get there safely than not.
