Driver’s education is vital because it has the potential to prepare you for all circumstances related to driving safely. It helps to prepare you for irresponsible drivers and gives the awareness and rules and recommendations to not be irresponsible yourself. When people know the effects of irresponsible drivers it causes them to reflect and realize how important it is to be safe on the road. When drivers prepare with driver’s education, it will reduce the number of deaths related to driving because of the preparation and the practical application of driving with someone other than their parents. The preparation can help to reduce careless mishaps by practicing and building confidence.
One way we can decrease the number of crashes or deaths related to cars is by making driver’s education more affordable or free for teens. Everything that is good and productive should be attainable to all. Drivers’ education would benefit every new driver and prepare them for situations they may not think about while driving from the perspective of a real teacher, not just your parents. Also, every state needs to have the hands-free driving law in effect. Hands off of our phones while driving will save lives. Less distractibility is the key. Having this law would create a positive outcome for generations to come. It would teach kids at an early age to not focus on phones. All driver’s education should create a reduction in teen insurance. This saving would add value to the need for more teens to take driver education. Driver’s education could be mandatory with these few actions in place. More focus will be given to taking driver’s education than it would be to the thought of teaching yourself or following the direction of a family or friend.
In addition, there are statistics that say crash rates are higher for teen drivers when schools start early in the morning. We can help reduce crashes by teens if schools pushed back their start times. It would keep students from driving to school half asleep putting themselves and others in danger of a crash. Also, There are a lot of people that drive under the influence. I think the best way to prevent this is by always having a designated driver. I know we can’t guarantee people will designate a driver. Driver’s education can show the effects and actual stories of people driving under the influence. When driver education shows deaths and accidents that can happen it will get people more motivated to find that designated driver.
I have personally had several mishaps in my car as an early driver. I was one who did not take driver’s education because of cost and no benefit on reducing insurance cost. I had an expensive lesson and learned quickly that distracted teens behind the wheel can be a dangerous situation. If you are going to get behind the wheel, you have to be stellarly focused. Cars can be a practical and safe mode of transportation. However, if you get behind the wheel and you are not ready, it can cause great harm and financial hardship I have been in wrecks that were my fault and one that was not my fault. I have made it my focus to be more attentive to my driving as well as to other drivers around me. You cannot control what other people do but you can do your best to be cautious. I now understand that it is important to keep a safe distance from another car. It is important to make all adjustments to air, radio, seats, etc before you start driving. It is important to stay focused and be aware of every situation. I know how important it is to follow speed warnings and to give cars enough time to stop behind you. I have learned the importance of patience and non-aggressive driving, I have learned the importance of precision and attention to detail… but at a price. I will encourage all my friends and family to get the necessary practice they need through driver’s education before they take on the monumental task of driving yourself and friends and family around.
