A Driver’s Responsibility
Studying and looking over the many laws and rules of driving is a driver’s utmost responsibility for the safety of their community and people. Learning these simple laws can easily prevent harm to any pedestrians or other drivers. Going over laws or precautions every once in a while as a driver can reinforce memory and safety measures when it comes to avoiding an accident. Simple things such as learning to yield when necessary, or waiting for pedestrians to finish crossing can make a huge difference for the safety of the driver and other drivers. Taking these steps and precautions can assist the numbers in deaths related to automobiles. I have been in quite a few car accidents myself, and trust me when I say that it is always the fault of the person who doesn’t take the extra couple of seconds to wait for a car to pass by before turning. Impatience like this can be detrimental to the safety of the driver and others. Another problem that often occurs is drinking while driving. Call an uber or a friend to pick you up, but never get behind the wheel. The effects of alcohol on your brain deters you from a state of reality that is unsafe for you to be on the road with others. When drivers are on the road, they must always remember that they share the road with others, and learn how to put into consideration that other lives are on the line if they choose to be careless. This requires empathy and compassion. Driver’s must learn how to Reckless and dangerous items such as a phone or taking your eyes away from the road to change the station on the radio are also the cause of many automobile accidents. To become a safer driver on the road, people must learn patience and learn how to understand. Understand that an elderly is driving on the road, so they must learn to drive behind the elderly, not cut in front of them. People must learn how to direct all of their attention to the road and always keep their eyes open and wary. As simple as it is, people must always to remember to look in order to ensure the safety of others.
