Driving is a privilege

Getting a driver’s license is a big milestone in a young teenager’s life. You get the responsibility of driving by yourself and going places you couldn’t go before. But before all that you have to go through a drivers education course. The drivers education course is a very important course you really need to pay attention to. It tells you all the rules and laws you can and can’t do. It teaches you responsibility behind the wheel and makes sure you don’t do something you’re not supposed to do. When going to a drivers education course it is a privilege not a given. You do not have to get your license and no one has to give it. You are given a huge responsibility and it can not be broken.

The steps that can be used to reduce the number of driving related deaths are infonant. The main cause for driving deaths is that thing in your pocket, your phone. The phone is a very useful piece of technology but is the number one cause. ONe step could be to put your phone on silent and put it away. If you don’t hear it or see it you won’t be tempted to look at it. Another step that can be taken is to follow the speed limit and don’t drive crazy. Even if you are running late to work or school or something like that, don’t speed. Speeding can cause you to lose control of your car and cause you to crash and kill you and or other people.

I was in a car accident with my friends that night. No one got hurt but it was a crazy ride. My buddy and I were driving down a back road late at night just talking and listening to music, then out of nowhere the guy in a truck was going way too fast around a corner and lost control and hit me and my buddy. The guy hit our back passenger side quarter panel and threw us around in a circle and into the ditch. Me and my buddy got out of the car and went to go talk to the guy but he took off and we never got to talk to him about it. We were not doing anything irresponsible but that guy was and that is what caused the accident.

To be a better and safer driver is to think about your actions before you do it. Driving is a very important thing you have to take very seriously in doing. Driving is not a joke and can cause very big problems. Driving irresponsible can cause very serious injury and or death. Sometimes things happen and it is no one’s fault but that is why they are called accidents. Taking the time to put your phone away and following the rules and laws on the road can save you and other people from getting hurt. Drive safe and don’t let little things distract you from getting into an accident and getting you and or other people hurt.
