The importance of driver education

Being behind the wheel of a vehicle is something that I take very seriously, and am an advocate for every other driver to understand the importance of safe driving as well. Driver education is a very important topic that every driver to be or current driver should be educated on. As an increase of drivers become educated on the importance of safe driving, I feel strongly that the number of deaths from accidents will decrease. As a driver I have taken many precautions to prevent and reduce the number of accident caused deaths. I make sure that my phone is tucked away in the dashboard to prevent myself from being distracted. Not only do I put my phone away, I also make sure to choose the radio station I want before I start driving due to the fact that many accidents are caused because of drivers looking to try and change the channel. And lastly, I make sure that I am prepared for the road before I start driving by making sure I do not have to do my makeup or eat while I am driving. I also make sure that everyone including myself is seatbelted before I start my vehicle. Understanding the importance of safe driving is a top priority that needs to be accounted for.

Car accidents are a very common cause of death for many people all over the globe. I myself have experienced a loss due to unsafe driving. This death has caused so much heartbreak all over my community. A highschool student had not been driving safely which resulted in her best friend’s death. This negligent driving that caused her death is one of the millions of teenage deaths caused by unsafe driving. Because of this trauma to our community many students are now understanding that driving is a serious action and could cause a drastic amount of damage if you meant it or not. Not only have people in my community been affected by unsafe driving, my family has also faced dramatic consequences due to negligence. I had been in an accident due to a driver in front of us not paying attention. Because of the proper precautions my family and I had done before starting the car, our lives had been saved and we are still here today. Not only do new drivers need to understand the importance of safe driving, people of all ages who are on the road have the responsibility to comprehend what one wrong move can do to someone’s life. Some steps that I as a driver can take to protect other drivers and pedestrians around me, is to make sure that I am prepared to be on the road and pay attention to every move I make as well as be cautious of the drivers who are surrounding me. Cautious drivers can save a life, due to their full attention to the road and the direction that they are going in. Driver safety is a topic that all drivers and soon to be drivers should understand and take responsibility for.
