Prevention is better than cure
The importance of driver education in reducing the number of deaths is a major problem going on with society today. Every day almost 30 people die from drunk driving incidents. These deaths dismantle families, communities, and friends. The importance of driver education is a very important problem that we have to face. We cannot just turn blind; there are countless people dying every day from the lack of driver education. Not only does drunk driving cause accidents but things like distracted driving. Learning their importance of driver education could stop people from losing their families, keep roadways safe, and overall, make the communities safer. It is important that we know how to reduce these fatalities and stress the importance of driving safely especially for younger people. There are multiple things you can do to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. Some companies like Spotify and Apple music have already done so by implementing things like drive mode or do not disturb while driving. What we can do to combat this is by first start by having classes about safety starting in high school. Once a class has been established, we can try to build an app that puts your phone on do not disturb and lights up red if you are on it while driving. Advertisements and adding signs to stop lights stating different facts like “one stop of a text saves lives” or “drunk driving kills lives” can be a big difference maker in the amount of car related deaths.
This subject means a lot to me because several of my family members have passed away from driving incidents. I have witnessed a couple of my friends get into car accidents due to the negligence of other drivers. My family seems to practice safe driving and has a sense of urgency when It comes to correcting problems relating to driver safety. A lot of younger people I know do not seem to have the same idea. I’ve seen multiple young people get into crashes due to reckless driving or the use of drugs. The problem is the young people don’t understand the importance and effect drugs can do to their body and impairment when driving. Providing young adolescents with the importance of driver education can reduce the number of fatalities, especially in younger adults.
To improve the problem with driver education, I can put up posters around my community advertising the importance of driver education. By advertising the education online via Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, I can reach younger audiences before they even start driving. By doing this, I can prevent the problem from occurring or even happening by making younger drivers think about their future decisions. Overall, prevention is better than cure. If we can learn to prevent drivers, we can reduce the amount of accidents. I believe to make a difference, we must come together to understand the level of danger it is to innocent pedestrians, drivers, and others. My close relation to the lack of driver education has led to me lose friends and family over thoughtless decisions, both by themselves and other people.
It is very important to teach driver education to ensure our future generations are not in danger while on the road. A change in these can make a big difference in our communities.
