Importance of Drivers Education
Driving is a very serious matter here in the United States and across the world. We as humans are not perfect drivers, the numbers show that. Every year tens of thousands of people die in these accidents, an activity most people do on a daily basis. That’s over fifty crashes that happen on a day to day basis meaning lots of people are dying daily because of a simple activity that we all do (ages 16 and up). A good majority of these accidents could have been prevented with safe driving practices. Once people get used to driving they are always confident but often break the laws. Speeding, not stopping at stop signs/lights, crossing solid lines, and many other examples that lead to serious issues. We have these mandated laws and rules for a reason and it is so people do not get hurt.
Accidents are very scary and costly, I have been in the car when my mom sister and I got hit by a car. My brother was in an accident a couple months ago and my dad was just hit not long ago as well. Thankfully everyone is okay and it was none of their faults it was emotionally hard and I was very happy that nobody physically was hurt. I am adding these stories to hopefully try and get others to realize to please do these simple safety practices, I could have lost all of my family to car accidents. So please do not drive distracted make sure you are optimizing your performance limiting blind spots and making sure you’re setting yourself up for a safe drive.
If we all had regular driving safety practice that is also affordable to all it would greatly help the amount of fatalities that happen on a day to day basis saving lots of peoples lives, and saving many the distress of loved ones and the money to recover. Drivers education would be beneficial to all because it reminds them of simple mistakes everyone makes. From stepping into the car people, forget the importance of adjusting mirrors, seatbelts, silencing phones, adjusting seats to make sure you’re comfortable but able to drive effectively, and making sure you’re in a good state of mind before stepping in the car. These few things a majority of people I know personally do not do, leading to more blindspots for the driver. Everyone without a seatbelt is at risk of greater injury because an accident can come from anywhere at any second whether it is your car’s fault or not.
If we can provide a mandatory drivers education that is also cost efficient family to family. We can all be safer drivers, drivers who take drivers education score higher on their final exams as well as in person drives. They follow the rules of the road and do everything according to the law to not only keep themselves but the others around them safe. I truly do believe drivers education and practicing safe driving for all drivers on the road will help lower the numbers of fatalities a year.
