Knowledge of Driving Importance

I believe the importance of driver education in order to reduce the number of deaths is very high. In order to even be on the road and behind the wheel, the person should know every risk, action, and rule there is to be driving. A lot of people may not understand this, but you are 19 times more safe in a plane rather than in a car. This is because of the amount of drivers who do not pay attention or don’t fully remember traffic laws. Not all accidents happen because of phones, although they are a big playing factor. It is so important to track down what is really happening in some accidents and how to inform drivers what steps they can further take for their own safety.

Some steps that can be taken in order to reduce the number of deaths is to be more strict on the drivers test. Talking from experience I thought the test was very easy and did not drill important things into your brain before starting to drive. I also think it is important to have people retest for their license more often. As people start to get older, it is easier to forget simple driving rules and regulations. I also believe it is clever for Apple IPhone users to utilize the “Do Not Disturb” setting on their phones when driving. Phones can be a huge distraction when driving and mostly are the causes of accidents.

I have been in a couple of car accidents and the only one that the driver was irresponsible was with my brother. I was super icy and cold in 2017 and he decided to go fast on the ice. This then resulted in a 360 spin and slamming right into a telephone pole. It was super scary and I never want to experience that again. This is a good example of an accident not being caused by an electronic device or the radio. Not all accidents are intentional but I think if he had remembered how to identify black ice, then it could have possibly prevented the accident. Drivers who have also been in this situation can probably relate to the fact that it has been a while since they have taken a drivers test.

Some steps I can take in order to be a better driver can be to slow down. Sometimes I get in a rush to go somewhere and don’t realize how fast I really am going. It is important to stay at the speed limit to protect yourself and others on the road. I also think it is important for me to turn the radio down when driving. I listen to music super loud and that can be dangerous since I don’t always know what is going on around me. By following these simple steps I can provide a better driving experience for myself and others. People today may be doing these actions and not see any problem with them. A refresher test and some information from their DMV can be a great tool to help with today’s drivers.
