From a young age my parents have taught me not driving lightly. Throughout my life I have witnessed many car accidents, luckily for me I have never been involved in one. This is because I myself, as well as the others I drive with, always practice responsible driving. These things include paying attention to your surroundings, having a fast reaction time, and making overall safe driving decisions. Most of these important techniques were formally taught through the driver education, course which is required to take in order to obtain your license. Due to the fact that it teaches the importance of safe driving and how to avoid accidents while on the road. Without this course the number of casualties caused by driving would be much higher.

Sadly accidents to occur, yet most could be easily avoided. For example, many accidents are caused because drivers fail to put complete focus on the road. One way to solve this problem is to put phones away, do not make them easy to access. The farther and more difficult to grab your phone the easier it is to resist checking it. There is no notification important enough to risk not only your life but the lives of others around you as well. In addition to staying off of your phone while driving, you can also help reduce the death rate by simply watching the others around you. If you see a car getting too close or nearly pushing you off of the road get away from them. A high percentage of collisons occur from one simple error, failure to check your blind spot. A simple tool that will tell you if it is safe to change lanes. It is extremely important to always have a sense of who or what are around you.

Whenever I am in a vehicle and witness unsafe driving practices, I always make sure to speak up. Often times I notice that drivers become distracted by things inside of the car rather than outside. Iresponsible driving is something that is very simple to fix. If I notice one of my friends paying more attention to a conversation then to the road in front of them, I pause the communication until the car has stopped. Making it fair to the driver. If the music is causing a distraction I turn it down making it easier to concentrate on the road. These are just simple ways to fix bad driving habits caused by distractions, yet if practiced they go a long way in helping safe driving.
