Importance Driver Education

Importance of driver education

Most teens can’t wait till 15 or 16 to start driving but what they might not realize is that driving comes with a lot of rules for their safety. Driving education is really important because it teaches the ways to be safe on the road. It will teach teens or adults what to do and not do while driving. With a good driving education you’ll learn how to keep yourself and others around you safe. When people take drivers ed and they listen and learn from it, that can help prevent accidents and deaths. In drivers ed students learn about the road signs and what they mean and how to prevent getting in an accident.

To reduce the number of deaths related to driving people should not drink and drive, text, and call. Drivers should know where all the controls are like the radio button, the windshield wipers, blinker signals, etc so they don’t have to look down while driving. A text or call is not more important than your life, and if it is the pull over to a safe spot and answer the call or text never text and drive. Another common issue is when people drop things while driving and go pick it up, don’t do that pull over or wait till you know it’s safe to look or pick it up. My mom’s boyfriend dropped his sandwich and went to pick it up. He smashed into the car infront of him. Luckly no one died but he did have serious back problems after. And even though no one died someone could have never taken the risk. If you are driving and the passengers are being distracted, pull over and tell them to stop or to get out it’s not worth risking your life. Or if you are in a car with a reckless driver tell them to pull over or call the cops you can’t let someone else risk your life and others. You should also wait a couple seconds after the light turns green because you never know who could be speeding trying to run the red light on their side. And when ever having to turn, look both ways even if cars are only going one way you also have to look for people walking.

I have had one experience being in a car accident, I was with my friends and the mom of one of the friends was driving. We were at a red light and it turned green so the mom drove straight and a car on our right hand side was speeding and we hit them, their car flipped and the moms car was smashed in on the front. Luckly no one died but my firend did have to go to physical therapy because she hurt her hip. That’s why it is really important to one look both ways and wait a few seconds before going after a red light. I also have seen my brother drive irresponsible. He speeds alot and sometimes with me and my sister in the car. This was a couple years ago and I don’t know if he still speeds because he now has a daughter. But no matter if no one or someone is in the car, never speed it’s not worth it.
