Drivers Ed Essay

Driver education is important in reducing the number of deaths and making sure every new driver is taught the rules of safe driving. This is to prevent themselves or anyone to be in an accident that can cause injuries or death. As every new driver becomes the age, they are to thoroughly read and understand what they will be expecting when they are on the road. Once they pass the written test, they are to put their learning to use by doing the driver’s test. Test driving with a driving instructor requires you to go by the speed limits, obey all signs, and make smart choices. This type of learning makes the importance of driver’s education.

The steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving is included, but not limited to the driver’s manual. Checking your vehicle, adjusting mirrors, and seat belts are all the precautions that should be taken. Most of all, drive the same way as you would with a driving instructor. So, I would advise, avoid texting, drinking, and being distracted while driving. When driving, think about your well-being and others as well. Prepare for the unexpected, such as being tired. After a long day, make sure you have the music to your liking, and well-rested before you drive. If you catch yourself falling asleep, pull to the side and rest.

Sadly, I went through a small accident myself. Falling asleep behind the wheel with a child passenger was a lesson learned. Never again will I not pack snacks, put on music to keep me awake, or simply pulling over for a nap. I have also had my fair share of seeing my family drive irresponsibly. As scary it as it is, I could never imagine going through what the passengers were thinking. Drinking and driving do not mix and one of my family members taught me to not end up in that position. Do not drive while you do not have a clear mindset, such as being angry. When doing the wrong thing, the driver can put everybody at risk and can lead to injury or death.

The steps you can take to be a better and safer driver is to adjust every setting to your comfort, seat belts, snacks, and music to keep you awake. Seat belts will always help you and prevent permanent damages to your body and is legally mandatory. Always be considerate of others. Passengers, or other drivers trust you and their lives are in your hands, literally. More steps such as do not be racing, because your vehicle can get out of control and sudden brakes can be dangerous. Manage your time to get to your destination, because if you are late, it will result in breaking a few laws. Avoid making other drivers irritated, road rage is a real thing and can put you in danger. Every driver wants to get to their destination safely along with their passengers who may be children.
