Driver Education Essay
The importance of driver education is to always make sure the driver is aware, wide awake, and paying attention. Another driver could jump out in the middle of the street because they’re not paying attention and you, the driver, need to make sure you watch out for people like that. Make sure the driver is watching their speed. Another driver can switch lanes without using any signals and the driver needs to watch out for that so they don’t run into the back of them. Some steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths is to make sure the driver is not tired or under the influence. If the driver begins to doze off, they need to find a safe place to pull over and call someone to come get them. Drinking behind the wheel is also one of the main causes that result in deaths. If you know, you are drunk, it’s safe to contact someone else and have them take you home. When you are under the influence, you’re not aware of what’s going on, the vision is blurry, and you could run off the road and hurt yourself along with someone else. Texting is also another main cause of death. The texts can wait. It is not worth picking up the phone while driving. I have been in a bus accident where a tractor trailer ran a red light and hit the front of my school bus and sent us spinning in the middle of the street and headed towards a ditch. I’ve had 1 classmate that was killed due to his friend being drunk and was speeding around a curb, they ran off the road and their whole car was wrapped around a tree and instantly, they could not even identify my classmate. To become a better driver and a safe driver, always stay aware and pay attention. Anything can happen very quickly and the driver needs to be prepared. Make sure if you are feeling funny or sleepy, contact a friend or family member. You can even call the police to escort you home to make sure you make it safely. Do not text and drive. It’s not worth hurting yourself or anybody else.
