There are many ways to reduce the number of deaths that are related to driving. Avoid distractions, obey laws, be aware of your surroundings, and make sure that you are driving sober. In 2018, about 29% of deaths that are related to diving were also related with alcohol. This is one of the main concerns with driving. Many adults are just on their way home from a bar but they don’t realize how this could affect others. Another main concern with driving is texting and driving. Thankfully, I have never experienced a car accident, but I have had friends that have been due to driving at a high speed and texting and driving. These are very common issues with younger drivers. I do know that they regret driving too fast and that they also regret texting and driving. They have learned that it is more important to pay attention to the road than to send a text.
I know that there are many ways that we can reduce distractions to make driving safer. One way is to make sure you eliminate distractions. For example, I put my phone in the backseat so I am not distracted. This has helped me focus on the road instead of being distracted. Another way is to obey the laws. You can obey the laws by going the speed limit, putting your seatbelt on, and following the signs or lights. Just by doing these easy tasks, you will become a safer driver and make everyone else be safe as well.
