Let’s start with you.

Let’s start with you.

Casual Monday morning, you’re driving to work around 11 am, and you find yourself with the possibility of your life ending in a blink of an eye. Now, what do you think might have happened? If everyone knew by heart the rules of the road fewer accidents would happen. But how? You may ask, well it starts with today! A new generation is always forming, which is why it important to have them grow into the world with better knowledge than the past. Driver Education is essential to be able to drive within all circumstances dangerous or non-dangerous for example during the day, night, on rainy days, snowy days, how to avoid black ice, and even what do when we get a flat tire. The number of deaths from car accidents insanely high compared to civil wars.

There are some accidents in life that cannot be prevented but why add more accidents on that list with situations that could have been preventable? Some steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths are the basics, check both sides before turning, constantly check for blind spots before switching lanes, keep your distance between cars, go the speed limit, but there are also some steps that are forgotten about what not to do when driving, for example, having loud music while driving, not being on drugs, or alcohol, not driving while angry or emotional, be prepared for the weather with either sunglasses or chains on the wheels, not eating when driving, and lastly this one cannot be emphasized enough: DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE! An accident can happen within a blink of an eye, let’s not risk it.

In my neighborhood, there have been several car accidents due to the lack of caution on checking to see if cars are coming from both sides at an intersection. These types of accidents caused in my neighborhood could have been easily prevented. Still some steps to become a better and safer driver as well as helping others become safer on the road is making sure that we are driving safely by not letting ourselves get distracted when driving and following the rules of the road. One person can make a big difference. Let’s start with you.
