Preventative Measure to Car Accidents

Driver education is the preventive measure to saving lives. Preventing car accidents is the long-term solution that is proactive. I’ve been in a couple of accidents and they resulted from drivers trying to get somewhere fast. There are several ways to reduce car accidents and it deals with different demographics: educating those who wish to seek their first driver license and those who already drive.

For those who are getting their license for the first time, they should pass two different tests. One test is on the driving rules and laws that one must need to know when driving among society. Another test will be on how to drive safe. This will ensure that new drivers will be more conscious of safe driving and of its importance.

For the current drivers, they need to be re-educated on safe driving. Surprisingly, a lot of drivers do not understand the dangers of tailgating and the dangers of driving slow on the faster lanes. Tailgating usually occurs for two reason, lack of knowledge of the danger or road rage. Educating the masses can prove an effective method for the lack of knowledge but road rage is another issue. If tailgating is enforced as an infraction, this may stop some but not all. Those who get infractions may choose to pay a fine or seek short-term therapy. The other issue is those who drive slow on the fast lane.

There was a study that indicated that slow drivers in the faster lanes may contribute to most car accidents. The faster drivers need to navigate around those who are slow in the fast lanes, and this presents much more variables that can lead to accidents. There are numerous accounts of drivers swerving back and forth trying to beat traffic because there’s one driver at the front that is slow. The slow driver creates traffic and the dangerous response to the slow driver that the faster driver takes will also contribute the traffic to slow down.

These preventative measures will significantly lower traffic accidents.
