The Importance of Drivers Education

The importance of Drivers Education to reduce the amount of deaths caused by driving is extremely important. Drivers Education should be extremely thorough, and well taught by a trained and experienced teacher and driver. The option of parents teaching their kids how to drive, should not be allowed because if a bad driver teaches their kid how to drive, it just creates another bad driver and continues the nasty cycle of bad drivers. I think that texting and driving should be an immediate fine, and a couple days of jail time, or a bunch of community service. Texting and driving can take people’s lives so easily. Drunk Driving should have a very large amount of jail time also, as that takes many many lives each year.

Personally, I have never been in a car accident, and I am very fortunate for that. Some of my family members have been in car accidents. I have had to help take care of my older step sister after her car accident, so I know how devastating they can be. I am fortunate that I have not known anyone personally who has died from a car crash. I know a couple that have been slightly injured, but I am very lucky to not know anyone who has died. It is very heart-wrenching when I hear of a fatality crash when I listen to the news. These crashes can be prevented with vetter caution and teaching of drivers education. When I am in the car with my dad, sometimes, he texts and drives. Whenever I see him start to text and drive I always tell him to put the phone down and text whoever it is later. A text is not more important than our lives, or any other driver on the road’s life. It is extremely important to hold your family members and friends accountable for texting and driving.

The steps I can take to be a better driver, be as attentive as I can, and make sure I am following the rules of the road. Some road signs are easy to miss, and you could be going 10mph over the speed limit, and not be aware of it, and that is extremely dangerous. I can also be more attentive whenever I am driving through construction. Some road construction can have your route go all wonky, and it is kind of frustrating sometimes. Sometimes unexpected construction can have you missing stop signs, and that can be extremely dangerous. I can also read up on how to drive through a 4-way stop better. I am usually unsure about what I need to do when I hit a 4-way stop, and I follow everybody else. I think that a lot of drivers are not completely sure on what to do during a 4-way stop. 4-way stops should be taught more in depth, and should be taken through on your student driving.

I think that drivers education should be taken more seriously, and should be more in depth than what it is today. It can help save thousands of lives if people take driving seriously. It is an extreme responsibility, and your car can kill people, and I don’t think that people genuinely understand that. Always hold your family and friends accountable for their actions in their driving, it can save yours, and their lives.
