Drivers education is a very important and huge step in a young teenagers life. In Drivers education it is very vital that all students pay close and careful attention to the instructor because all the information that is said could end up saving his or her life, or the life of another. Once a young driver finally starts driving on their own it is essential that they are not distracted while they are behind the wheel. Some examples of ways to reduce distracted driving to make sure that cellphones are turned off and on silent, so that drivers aren’t looking down at their phones to see what notifications popped up. Make sure the screen of the phone is turned away from the phone, or keep it in your pocket but make sure it’s not on vibrate either. Other ways to reduce distracted driving would be to drive with only one to two people in the car. It’s best if the person that is driving lets everyone else in the car know that they can’t be distracting to them. During my time as a driver I have never experienced a car, but I have been a passenger during a crash. I was in seventh grade and my brother who was a senior in high school at the time ran a red light that he thought was green. He ended up t-boning the car that had pulled out in front of him, and totaled his car in the process. Luckily no one in the crash was injured, but it shows that it is not safe to drive while drowsy. If possible no one should drive if they are feeling tired or exhausted unless necessary. Some ways that I can help push people in the right direction when it comes to driving could be: being a good example to others when driving, when someone else is in the car with me make sure I don’t show road rage and am calm at the wheel. I can give beginning drivers tips on how to be a better driver and what certain outcomes could look like based on certain situations that I have been in. Most student drivers like to speed on the road or pass cars because they get impatient with the car in front of them. As a driver who has found out that speed isn’t everything I can show drivers that it takes pretty much the same amount of time to a stop light without going seventy in a fifty five. Being a good and safe driver can take quiet a bit of practice but if one puts in the effort and concentrates on being a good driver then they can reduce the accident rate and number of deaths due to driving.
