  • What is the importance of driver education in reducing the number deaths as a result of driving?

Driver education is vital in reducing the number of deaths and violations. If more drivers maintained continued education with regards to driving, this could have positive affects in obeying the laws, preventing deaths and accidents and minimize traffic violations. Continued education could also inspire drivers to be more cautious and courteous on the road.

  • What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?

Many steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths such as continued education required for all drivers to be completed online with a certificate of completion, written exams every 5 or 7 years with vision exams included. Specialized education to prevent drunk driving and driving under the influence. Accident awareness for driving in harsh weather conditions, rain, sleet and snow.

  • Have you ever had an experience of being in car accident or have seen your friends or family members driving irresponsibly?

Car accidents can be very scary and more education would be helpful in teaching driver’s proper protocol in handling car accidents and conflict. Sometimes car accidents can result in difficult behaviors and volatile drivers. Education on what to do during a car accident, exchanging information, or awaiting the arrival of law enforcement to take a police report can be a great idea to have a mediator to retrieve everyone’s insurance information as well.

  • What steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road?

As discussed above, continued education and ensuring compliance with necessary requirements, rules and policies such as maintaining financial responsibility such as having proper insurance and registration. Wearing seat belts, and avoid technology while driving, no texting or cell phone usage. Even simple things like being courteous on the road, patient and polite can help to avoid conflict, road-rage and accidents.
