Sanity in Safety

There is something to be said when it comes to sanity in safety. Many people think they are truly prepared when it comes to being on the road. However, one key factor they are forgetting is that they are behind something that can easily become a 2000 pound death machine if rules are not abided by. This is why there must be knowledge of every driver in what it takes to reduce the number of deaths as a result of driving.

Driving is a responsibility that one must take seriously at all times. Driver’s education can be a critical component to help reduce the number of deaths as a result of driving. When driver’s education is taken seriously, drivers are less likely to be receive a traffic violation or be involved in a crash. The driver education courses help drivers develop important vehicle control and traffic maneuvers. Drivers also learn defensive driving techniques that save lives, the lives of their passenger’s, or possibly someone else’s life.

It is crucial for all driver to understand that steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. One of the most common rules is that traffic law must be obeyed. When laws are obeyed, this greatly reduces the chances of someone dying in a traffic accident. Avoiding distractions such as a cell phone is another key factor. One should also not drive when they are tired because young people as much at risk of falling asleep behind the wheel like the older folks. Steering clear of drugs and alcohol is also another critical factors. Drugs and alcohol make one become impaired and makes it so that they cannot make appropriate judgments while driving. Using common sense with the common rules will reduce the number of deaths while driving.

I have seen many of my high school friends drive irresponsibly. I have seen them drive fast when it is icy on the road and have seen them drive with friends on the front hood while going in circles. There has been an instance of a teenager getting hurt while riding on the front hood of a car and ending up mentally incapacitate as a result. I have also seen friends speed up trying to outrun a yellow or red light and get broadsided in the process. Lots of these fatalities could have been prevented if people would have used common sense and not driven recklessly.

Steps are important when it comes to making someone a better and safer driver, as well as helping others become safer on the road. For starters, one can use common sense and go the speed limit and get their road rage under control. Knowing how to maintain control if your tire blows out is a key factor as well. Another important step is to stay off your cell phone. If you do these safety steps, your risk of safe driving greatly increases.
