Driving Safely

2

The importance of a Driver Ed course goes a long way. Teaching the basic, inuitive, and safety protocols when driving or preparing to hit the road with your vehicle. As well as teaching the rules and regulations that must be upheld when driving through neighborhoods, highways, and government buildings. Knowledge of the road and how to protect oneself during times of a fatal accident is lethal in deciding if coming out of the close to completely unharmed. Driver Educational courses prove to many young drivers that their teachings help in the reduction of death due to accidents on the road. Following the steps and protocols from these courses benefits an individual to better their experience when driving. Aiding the world by becoming a good driver rather than an irresponsible one.

There are a wide array of steps that must be taken to avoid death when driving. Firstly, a basic check up on your vehicle. Noticing any type of problems when starting your vehicle such as a weird noise, oil leaks, fast overheating, or failure to start. Relaying a message to the driver that the vehicle is not able to hit the road. Most importantly, checking if the brakes are working properly. Many accidents happen when the car is unable to stop in time resulting in a disastrous crash. Adjusting your rear view mirrors are extremely helpful in order to see all things. Alerting you of any possible dangers creeping behind your field of vision. The final and most vital decision to be contemplated is the inability to drive. Knowing when to say no to driving is what decides between life and death. These include when an individual is under the weather, injured, or under the influence. It can be inferred that most mainstream accidents that occur when driving are because of a heavily drunk person taking the life of another while driving.

From life experience, I have heard many gruesome stories of fatal crashes that had happened to either friends or people in my life. Stories of my own include driving with family members and they are under the influence of alcohol. They drive recklessly fast and sometimes are not even aware of their surroundings. Even to go as far as not wearing their seatbelt. Endangering the lives of both of us and innocent people driving on the same road.

The best steps to take for the betterment of driving is awareness. Being alert of both surroundings and the speed at which one is going. To not be impudent while driving. Staying alert on the road is a very important rule that is underappreciated. This is supported by the fact that texting and driving has become a serious issue in today’s society. Many drivers will often check their phone as a force of habit. Not realizing that danger can be lurking at every corner. It is better to disregard your phone when driving or stop at a parking lot to make that phone call or text. Doing so will evade the possibility of suffering an accident on the road.
