Importance of Safe Driving

Growing up we all get excited about getting out there and learning how to drive. This can be something you’ve been looking forward to for a while, but driving can also be dangerous if not getting educated about it properly. Taking lessons allows you to become more comfortable and confident behind the wheel. You will feel more safe driving and therefore won’t be afraid to drive when you need to. Also, you will learn road signs and how to approach any kind of situation if anything happens. Driver education is associated with a lower incidence of both crashes and convictions. Reducing crashes by over 40%. There are simple steps that can be taken to reduce risks, the key points are to obey the traffic laws, be predictable, avoid DISTRACTIONS, and steer clear of alcohol and drugs. These are all simple steps that can prevent you from any kind of accidents or worse events like death. Some more steps you can take to reduce the number of deaths are to wear your seatbelt, limit passengers, and if preventable limit your night driving. I have been in a car accident before and I can tell you from experience that it is no fun. I was in the car with my mom going home while this young teen driver was on his phone and not focusing on the road. It left a big impact on me and made me wonder how important it is to keep your eyes on the road at all times!. They say that when driving you must have eyes everywhere and that is probably one of the most correct statements I have heard. Driving is something that everyone should take seriously and not joke around with. Thousands of people die from causes involving car accidents and it is most common in teens. When it comes to teens getting in accidents these are not bad teens who are bad people, instead they are teens who are making poor choices. Getting educated well on driving can prevent this from happening. When you are educated early you will have gained more knowledge and have a less chance of getting into an accident within your first 2 years in driving which are when accidents are most common. Some steps you can take to become a safer driver are forgetting about your phone, buckling up, properly positioning your hand in the 3 and 9 hand stance, only drive when well rested, minimize all distractions. Some steps you can take to make sure others are safe on the road are not to tailgate, always use your signal light when lane changing or turning, don’t speed, don’t honk at them if not necessary. So as you can see being safe and vigilant while driving is very important. You can do so much by taking an action that will promise your safety. Driving can be something either dangerous or fun and it is all up to you and your actions. So please choose wisely, be safe and just know that you can do it.
