I think the importance of driver education in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving is ensuring that you are driving safely and responsibly. A lot of young drivers’ trend to drive irresponsibly when they get their license. When you drive safe and responsible it very much decreases your chances of getting into accidents, Getting pulled over by the police, getting a ticket, etc. Nowadays drivers like driving over the speed limit and think it’s normal, most of the time they drive over the speed limit because they see all the other cars driving over the speed limit, so they want to try to fit in, not knowing their breaking the law and increasing their chances of getting in an accident. Also, driver education teaches young driver to be aware of the road signals and understand the importance of knowing them to make themselves a smart driver, because confused drivers and below educated drivers are causes of death also.

I think some steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving is putting your phone or any electronics away because that is a major cause maybe even the number one cause of deaths is distracted driving. Texting and driving are the number one cause of distracted driving. Another step you could take is checking frequently at the road signals and making sure you’re following the laws of the road. It is important to be always aware of your surroundings at and focus on the road. Another step you can take is don’t tail-gate, always make sure you’re following the 3-to-4 second rule. This makes sure you don’t rear end the vehicle in front of you if the make a hard stop or abrupt stop and gives you enough time to slow down as well. One last step could make sure your seatbelt is on and all passengers aren’t doing anything to distract you while driving.

I personally have not been in an accident, but my father who passes away in 2016 has been in a motorcycle accident, which unfortunately was the cause of his death. My father wasn’t really a safe driver, even though I hate to say it. I wasn’t around him as much but sometimes he would drive unsafely, noting major though. My uncle sometimes drives while drinking substances with minor alcohol in it, I’m not sure if it affects you differently because I want nothing to do with alcohol, but I barely ride with my uncle because he sometimes speed or doesn’t turn his signals on, and always tries to beat yellow lights

Some steps you can take to be a better and safer driver is ensuring that your windows are adjusted properly and your seat. If you like listening to music, try to limit how loud the music is because that could distract you from focusing on driving as well. Steps you could take to help other drivers on the roads is go a little bit under the speed limit if your being tailgated to the car behind you drives pass. If I was in the passenger seat and I was trying to help either a friend or family member out to become safer on the road is if they need directions to go somewhere, I would assist them by using my phone and typing in directions and telling them where to go instead of them having to get their phone and try and do it themselves so they can focus on driving and keep their hands on the wheel.
