The Importance of Driver Education and Safe Driving
It is important to educate our drivers because well educated drivers are less likely to get into an accident. Car accidents are a huge killer in America whether they be from texting and driving, drinking and driving or driving under the influence of various substances. There are many things we can do to make our roads safer for future generations of Americans.
Driver Education is crucial in reducing the number of vehicular deaths as a result of driving because the more time we put into educating our young drivers about road safety and defensive driving the less likely they are to be involved in a traffic collision.
I believe that we can reduce the number of deaths related to driving by not only better regulating online drivers education and possibly putting in place a type of test when renewing your driver’s license to ensure the continuation of safe driving.
I have never been in a severe car accident but my friends, family, and even I sometime drive irresponsibly. I have witnessed not only driving under the influence, but texting and driving too which are both major reasons for traffic collisions in the United States.
Some steps I can take to become a better driver are to quit texting and driving and paying better attention to what is going on around me. I can also turn down my music and focus more on driving than the conversations being had in the car.
In conclusion, the chance of an accident will never be zero but if we take the small steps we can drastically lower the amount of deaths and injuries from them. These steps can be as small from putting your phone down and answering the snapchat when you get to your destination and taking an uber or assigning a sober designated driver when you plan on drinking to as large as testing people when they renew their drivers licenses to promote safer driving. Everything makes a difference no matter how small.
