Buckle Up
Have you or any of your loved ones ever been involved in a car accident? If so, then you know the tragedy it can bring upon someone. Vehicles may be a great invention that has changed the world in many positive ways, but it also has very negative effects that can come along with it. With the proper knowledge and education though, these problems can be avoided.
There is an unbelievable amount of people that die every year due to driving accidents. This is why it is so crucial for people to know the importance of driver education because, with just a little bit more knowledge, you could be helping to reduce the number of deaths. There is multiple steps people can take to ensure safe driving, you could; create social media pages to help spread awareness of driving safety, educate yourself more on the subject so you can preach your knowledge to other people, and to make sure you are doing the right thing on the road. It is important to make sure you are always watching out for every driver, not just yourself. Besides making sure you are a safe driver, you have to make sure the people you are in the car with are being safe as well. It can often be uncomfortable to say something but it is more important in the end to call someone out and tell them to pay attention if they are driving unsafely and you feel you and the other people on the road are being put in danger.
Personally speaking, I know what it is like to have been in an accident myself and had close friends of mine get into one. Luckily we were all safe and no one was hurt but it was incredibly scary. In both instances, it was not our fault but the other driver. My accident wasn’t bad thankfully, but I am extremely grateful for the survival of my friends because their accident was extreme. Everyone around them kept saying it was a miracle and that they should have died considering the impact at which they got hit. Hearing that people close to you have been in a car accident is one of the scariest feelings and most of the time, not everyone is as lucky. This personal experience has taught me many things about driving and has raised my awareness to a whole nother level.
Steps I can take to make sure myself as well as other drivers around me are being safe on the road can consist of making sure the driver is not on their phone, and is always paying attention to the road, is not getting distracted by loud music or talking to people in the car, is following the speed limit, traffic signs, etc., make sure everyone is wearing their seatbelts, and overall listen to the rules of the road. I like to say, drive like you’re taking your license test every time you get in the car!
