Drivers Education Initiative 2020: In the Driver’s Seat.

Throughout the United States, teenagers are required to take some type of driver’s education classes to get their driver’s license. Which is very important, not just for the driver, but for the other drivers around them. Within this essay I’m going to explain the importance of drivers education classes, the steps that need to be taken to reduce the amount of deaths caused by driving accidents. As well as, my personal car accidents caused by mal-driving of others, and lastly the steps and actions that need to be taken for better and safer driving.

Drivers education is not just important to the students who take it, but also to the drivers around them. With having taken a drivers education class it not only teaches you how to drive properly, but as well as the rules of the roads. Having knowledge on how the rules of the road works, it can reduce the chances of deaths and injuries in the result of driving. With having taken a drivers education class, there are proper steps that are taken to get your driver’s license. With these steps it helps reduce the number of deaths caused by driving. Some of those steps within driving a vehicle are not looking at your phone while driving, muting yourself from distractions, and one everyone should know, putting on your seat belt.

I personally have been driving for over a year going onto two years. Within my years of driving I have never been the cause of an accident, but I have been in one. I was with my friend coming back from work, and someone hit the side of the car, they were drinking and driving. Thankfully nobody got hurt, but with his mal-driving and bad decisions an accident did occur and could have ended differently. So by being in a car accident like that I learned some new steps to help better and safer not just myself, but for my family as well. Some of the steps were, simply just explaining the right and wrongs of the roads to my sisters. You can also give feedback to the people who you get in the car with. Let them know how their driving was. The last step would be telling them to be cautions not just for themselves but for the other drivers around them.

The importance of drivers education is very important, not just for the driver but for the other drivers around them. While taking steps such as wearing a seat belt can help reduce the number of deaths caused by driving. This step helped very much when I was in the car accident with my friend. Lastly, sharing these steps with your family, friends and loved ones can and will better and safer them while driving.
