The Benefits of Driver’s Education

The Benefits of Driver’s Education

The number of people that die each year resulting from vehicle accidents is an issue that needs to be considered. Various factors can come into play such as the age, responsibility, and surroundings of the driver, but also the education and experience plays a huge role in vehicle accidents. That is why driver’s education should be stressed among first-time drivers and their parents.

I took driver’s education when I began driving, and it truly helped me to not only learn the rules on the road, but to gain confidence in my driving skills. It is more beneficial to enroll in driver’s education because students can learn the rules in the classroom, and apply those rules when they are completing the driving portion of the course. When people have more experience and education, this prevents vehicle accidents on the road. These drivers are more comfortable when driving and less confused since they have been educated on the rules as well. If drivers do not know the rules, obviously, they cannot follow them and this will inevitably lead to accidents.

For me, I am blessed to never have had an accident; nevertheless, this was due to the amount of experience I had with driving on the road and how seriously I was when enrolled in driver’s education. Many of my friends in high school were not as lucky. Throughout high school, I could see that those students who did not attend driver’s education, or completed the course online, were known to be the inadequate drivers. In my opinion, I did not become involved in an accident because I took driver’s education and made sure to practice driving as much as possible before obtaining my license.

Ultimately, I know there is always room for improvement when it comes to my manner of driving. In order to be a better driver, I can build up on my driving skills by being more aware of the speed limit and not becoming distracted when I am driving with other passengers. To help others become better drivers, I can promote these and be a responsible passenger whenever I am riding with someone.

It should be an important cause to help reduce the number of deaths from vehicle accidents. As shown on the dmvedu.org website, the number of deaths from highway fatalities is comparable to many wars our country has faced such as the Korean War, the American Revolution, and wars in the Middle East. In addition, there are also deaths from driving inexperience in rural and suburban areas that also can be included in total deaths from accidents. In conclusion, high-quality driver’s education should be implemented for all first-time drivers, and this will help increase driving experience and reduce the number of deaths.
