Step one – Drivers Ed
Step One:- Drivers Ed
It is sad to see that highway related deaths have started rising again. The number of deaths that occur every year is comparable to those brave soldiers who died in battle and sacrificed their lives for this great nation. An average of thirty four thousand people die every year from vehicle related accidents which is more than the total number of soldiers that die from Iraq and Afghanistan combined. On the road, if one person is driving carelessly, then he/she is a threat to everybody on the road. By driving carelessly one is not only endangering their lives but the lives of the others who are trying to follow the rules of the road. To be a good samaritan on the road, one should know how they should drive and the consequences of what happens when you don’t. There are two steps in that process. First one involves taking a driver education class or course and step two is to follow what you have learned so that you are less of a risk to yourselves and most importantly others on the road. I haven’t known anybody in my family who has been in a car accident, but I do know people who drive carelessly even after taking a driver education course. That is why step one is going to a driver education class and step two is applying what you have learned.
It is surprising to see that you just have to know the rules of the road to become a driver. By just knowing the rules is not enough, one also has to know what happens when they don’t follow them. When I say consequences, I don’t mean what happens when a cop catches you for speeding. I mean what happens when you get in an accident. Let’s say when you are driving on the highway fifty miles more than the speed limit. If your car goes out of control, you are potentially a danger to all those travelling on the highway at that point of time which is a danger to a lot of people. Taking a drivers ED class can help you know the risks of actions that one might take on the road, thus helping them to deeply evaluate how their action on road might impact the others on the road who are trying to follow the rules to be safe and who are just as much as concerned about their lives just as you are.
Many states require teens and in some cases adults to take a drivers ed course in their state to get a drivers licence. Research shows that by educating people how to drive safely and showing them what happens if they don’t is an important step to ensuring safety or trying to minimize the accidents caused on the road. Another important part of drivers ed course is supervised driving under a teacher supervision which helps you get a practical idea of how it is to drive on the road. Drivers Ed is the most essential step on to become a good samaritan on the road.
