“If you know you are driving to your death –would you still drive so fast?”
This question is crucial to always ask yourself as a driver on the road. When driving, safety and protection should always be a top priority and never forgotten about, but when it comes to safe driving, what are the steps to take to make sure you are doing so with care and responsibility? And how does drivers ed support it?
Drivers Ed takes a huge toll on reducing the number of deaths dealing with driving. Within the California state requirement of 30 hours for drivers ed, the information in these courses teaches individuals, especially eager teens that are ready to hit the road, how to properly handle the vehicle when you’ve taken over the wheel, the meanings of roadway signs, and also broken and solid lines, both white and yellow. It then explains how to manage the wheel with care in all weather conditions and with different terrains, as well as teaching the students the proper way of dealing with other drivers. This knowledge is critical for all road users, such as motorists, passengers, cyclists, and even pedestrians, to know. Helping adults and young teens understand and visualize vehicle control will produce confidence and certainty when it comes to getting on the road. These 30 standard hours of studying the rules of the road will let individuals become certified and well-versed on the guidelines of driving, making you one step closer to achieving your official license.
My life has never been personally affected by poor driving, but a dear friend of mine has had serious injuries in the past due to a driver being unsafe and unaware of their actions. Losing close friends, family members, significant others, and even pets are some of the most difficult losses to get through, that’s why it is very crucial to invest all of our focus and attention to the rules of the road. Safe driving, saves lives! The steps that should be taken to not only reduce the number of deaths on these roadways but also to create a much safer and secure atmosphere, is to, of course, plan, follow the given rules of driving, calm yourself if road rage has taken place either between you or the other individual, never depend on other drivers and most of all, maintain control of your feelings, actions, and especially the vehicle. Understanding these steps and the importance of them will cause a lack of danger on intersections and freeways and will help all motorists become better and safer drivers. You’d rather be safe than sorry!
