Safe driving is right driving

When you are
sixteen years old you look forward to being able to drive a car. But
being young you don’t realize the dangers of other people on the
road or what you might encounter while driving. When taking drivers
education it teaches you how to be a careful and cautious driver. It
informs you of why it’s important to focus on the road to help
reduce the numbers of deaths while driving. People need to be more
careful, no texting and driving, no drinking and driving and staying
away from any type of distraction. Since cellphones have been around
the amount of accidents from texting and driving was at a high.
Speeding and racing down the road is not safe either. Kids think they
are having fun by racing other people but they don’t realize that
could be their last time let alone could take someone’s life from
being careless.

I was in a car
accident in August i was stopped at a red light and a guy was
speeding and going so fast he couldn’t stop. He told the police he
say my brake lights but couldn’t stop it was too late when he
looked up. There was no need to speed like that and if he wouldn’t
have been texting i wouldn’t have been in a wreck and would have
avoided waiting to get my car repaired and several hospital and
doctor visits. It’s not worth that. You are putting people’s
lives at risk because you are not paying attention. Maybe we should
be more strict and if you are driving careless you shouldn’t be
able to just get back on the road like it’s nothing.

I personally
think that i can be a safer driver by keeping my phone in driving
mode anytime i am in my car and always keeping focus on the road and
be aware of my surroundings. If you are alert and pay attention and
know your surroundings maybe you can help prevent wrecks and even
deaths if we are more aware. Watching that guy speed up behind me
made me pay more attention especially behind me. If i wouldn’t have
angled my car there is no telling how bad the wreck could have truly
been. Pay attention and worry about you before others. Keep your eyes
on the road and both hands on the wheel.
