Education and Safety Protocols
I
wonder if car inventors thought about how crucial drivers ed
would be, especially in today’s world. In the U.S., there are
roughly 6 million car accidents annually. This shocking statistic
makes a plea for drivers ed to be required of every person
wanting to drive. Through multiple training courses and gained
knowledge, inexperienced drivers can become experienced which will
secure the safety of others and themselves. In addition to these
courses, there is a need for speed controls to be placed along
sidewalks to maintain speed limits, and also space awareness systems
set in cars to avoid tailgating and head-on crashes. By being
careful, considerate, patient, and watchful, I, along with other
drivers, can prevent car accidents from happening and maintain a safe
driving record continuously.
It
is evident that every state needs a drivers ed program set in
place for the good of every person who is on the road, both in a car
and not. These programs allow inexperienced drivers to understand the
rules of the road, and obtain practice with experienced supervision.
The standards of permit and license tests should remain high to
prevent any low quality driving to pass as acceptable. To control
accidents that happen because of reckless and inattentive behavior,
there should be safety protocols placed on sidewalks and citizens’
cars. Specifically, there should be speed sensor signs lining
sidewalks that will flash if a passing car is going at least 5 miles
above the speed limit, alerting the driver to slow down. In like
manner, there should be space awareness sensors applied to both the
front and back bumpers of citizen’s cars to help indicate how close
they can be to another car or civilian. These sensors will alert the
driver with a flashing red signal on their dashboard to reveal they
are too close to a car or civilian. Taking all these precautions will
tremendously decrease the car accident to year ratio.
Personally,
I have been involved in a car accident that wasn’t fatal, but
eye-opening nonetheless. My driver decided to cross all four lanes of
traffic at once, at an intersection where the light was green. All
aspects of this situation were incorrect, and it resulted in a crash.
Thankfully, no one got hurt, but not every person in every incident
is that fortunate. By taking every decision into careful
consideration, drivers everywhere, including me, can prevent fatal
outcomes from producing. Decisions should not be made without
attention to the situation and examination of each choice. By waiting
to turn until the next street, my driver could have avoided the
outcome of a car crash. For this reason, the need for safety
protocols on the road for experienced drivers is vital. Furthermore,
if I had been educated on situations like this, I could have assisted
her as well. All things considered, drivers ed and safety
protocols are a must to ensure the safety of all people, both in the
car and out.
