Be safe for me, and you
In todays society, more and more kids are getting into the world of driving. This opens an entirely new world of opportunity. Being able to travel. Being able to visit friends. Being able to go to work yourself. However, this also opens an entirely new world of dangers. As stated in numerous online pages, such as driver knowledge.com, every year, tens of thousands of teens and people die in car crashes. Many of these deaths are caused by simple things taught in driver safety, such as not wearing a seatbelt, drinking and driving or texting and driving. In this essay, I will explain how drivers safety can lead to a reduction of deaths by car accidents
First of all, one of the biggest points, is the importance of driver safety. Driver safety should be and usually is a number 1 key factor in a drivers ed. If more people actually apply what they can learn through these driver safety courses, the fatalities would be reduced dramatically, as people use the knowledge of the road to be safe, and keep others safe.
Secondly, what can be done to start reducing deaths. We can start by increasing penalties of not following the rules of the road. Higher penalties will encourage new and veteran drivers not to speed, or break the laws of the road, as well as making sure they are following the rules.
Personally, I do have a friend who has been in numerous accidents. For privacy reasons I will not state his name, but my friend has driven recklessly, such as looking at his phone, and driving fast simply for the rush. This is a major issue, as it can put his life in danger, and many others, and I would prefer not to see anyone, let alone my friend be hurt by not following the rules of the road.
Now, I can’t only give advice on how to be a better and safer driver, I must also follow the rules myself and apply my knowledge learned through drivers ed. I can make sure I take all safety precautions before going anywhere, such as making sure my phone is on silent, I have my seat belt on, and I’m paying attention to the road before, during, and after driving somewhere.
Overall, in order to preserve the lives of not just young adults, but all drivers everywhere, everyone should follow the rules more seriously, and face more serious consequences for violating these rules
