Could Be Anyone

There
is a large importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of
deaths from driving. Making sure someone knows the rules of driving
is a step in reducing the number of deaths is important. Taking a
drivers ed class is one step that can be taken in order to
reduce the number of deaths from driving. Anyone who wants to be able
to drive must take a drivers ed class. Without any kind of
instruction about the rules of the road, there would be chaos and the
number of deaths would increase.

Steps
that can be taken in order to decrease the number of deaths related
to driving would be a defensive driving course. This course would
help people become familiar with what to do in the event of an
accident or threat when driving. Currently in my community there is a
defensive driving course offered by an organization called Abby’s
Angels. This course is designed to teach safe driving techniques and
prepare a driver for any dangers they may encounter on the road. This
is important because it prepares people for any event where they may
have to use defensive driving techniques.

I
have personally been in a car accident because someone was not paying
attention when parking and rammed right into the side of my car.
Although it was minor, I was still a little shaken up and I realized
that everyone should be 100% careful when driving no matter what the
circumstance is. In my community there have been major accidents that
resulted in the deaths of a teenager. This hit hard to me because it
made me realize that it could happen to anyone. This is why safe
driving techniques are important to me and I do pay more attention
when driving. The impact that a car accident can have on someone’s
life is major and really encourages others to be safe.

Steps
that can be taken to be a better and safer driver is to put the phone
away, keep your eyes on the road, and be aware of your surroundings.
People tend to be distracted from their phone, eating, or maybe
talking to someone in the car and it can result in a car accident.
Laws that prohibit cell phone usage while driving are put in order
which have helped to decrease car accidents caused by distracted
driving but people still disobey the law. It really all comes down to
the person’s commitment to safe driving. Defensive driving courses
should be required so that one knows the proper precautions to take
when in danger while driving. Everyone should always be cautious when
driving to ensure that they are not creating a threat to themselves
or anyone else on the road because an accident could be very
traumatizing and harmful to one’s life.
