You aren’t Ok to drive.

One huge cause of death in America is caused by driving is drunk driving. According to Time Magazine “one in five americans admit to drinking and driving” and “every day, almost 30 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes” according to NHTSA.gov. Drunk driving is a serious and very common issue in America. It is important for all drivers to know and fully understand the dangers of drunk driving. Without that knowledge, a person may one day injure or take the life of themselves or another. Drivers need multiple different methods of teaching to learn about driving under the influence. They need lectures, and videos, and speakers, and different methods so that they can really grasp the dangers of driving intoxicated. By doing this, it can hopefully reduce the number of deaths caused by driving. There needs to be more ads, and commercials around to address this issue; people with power like governors, or mayors of different places and maybe even the president can speak on this issue to bring awareness to it. Also, television shows and films could add more episodes of people who go through the tragedies of drunk driving so that their audience can possibly empathize enough to stay away from that. Last year, a classmate of mine and friend of many many people died because of drunk driving. She was coming to school late one day… and as she was crossing the street right in front of the school, just before she reached the door… a drunk driver swerved and crashed into her sending her flying. About a week later, she died. That is not acceptable, the driver was speeding during school hours, intoxicated and murdered an innocent teenager, a friend, a daughter, a teammate, a student. To help this severely dangerous problem, I will make sure that me or anyone that I know never drives drunk. I will pick people up and drive them home just to make sure they get home safely and does not make a stupid decision. I will also post things on social media to advertise for this cause. Driving intoxicated is something that kills, and remember, if you are intoxicated, you are not ok to drive.
