The Short life of an Irresponsible Driver
Unfortunately, many teenage drivers live in the moment and disregard driving safety. Many lives are ruined every day by one accident, the one day they were on their phone at the wrong and time. Their joy is short-lived, while they have to love the rest of their lives unhappy and regretful. If more drivers are forewarned early on and see examples of the terrible accidents, and gain an appreciation for their lives and others, then accidents would be rarer; but since people always think That ain’t gonna happen to me, they lose sight of the potential dangers of their driving habits. That lack of concern is a big issue, and most people cannot grasp the danger that they can cause to themselves as well as pedestrians. Education and awareness are key to solving the issue, the more people care, the better the situation will be.
Another main issue is that our generation is filled with technological dependence that blinds us to the road. Phones bring in uncertainties that contribute heavily to the total accidents per year. Getting rid of the phones during driving periods will alleviate some of those uncertainties. No matter how safe a driver is, one absent-minded person can cripple them for life, just like that. I had one experience of being in a car accident, it was a woman who went onto the road without looking to her left and right and she hit us from the side. It all happened so fast and I could barely react. I can make sure that I do not let an intoxicated person drive, cause that is just a recipe for disaster. Keeping the driver off their phone will decrease the chances of a car accident. Just making sure the driver is paying attention to the road is all you can do as a passenger, and making sure that you’re aware of your surroundings as a driver. Accidents are too common and they need to be reduced with education to stop needless suffering.
