In The Driver’s Seat
Is there such a thing called being a perfect driver? In my opinion, I believe that no one is a perfect driver. Accidents could happen to anyone even if you think that you are a good driver. Sometimes parents could be bad influencers towards their children due to irresponsible driving. Some examples of irresponsible driving are texting, being on the phone, one-hand steering, and not being alert while driving. Driving is a privilege and if you get your license suspended then there’s no going back.
When getting your license it is important that people attend driver’s education. Some people may think that driver’s education is useless, but if you think about it these classes could really teach you a lot and get you ready on the road. Driver’s education teaches you about the various signs, color of the sign, railroad passing, interstate lanes, etc. If you took the driver’s education class and paid attention then you would be less likely to be at risk of being a part of a fatal car crash.
I’ve also recently taken the driver’s education class. The class was boring and long but absolutely worth it. The class made it so much easier to pass the driving test if you pay attention. Although, some people didn’t pass and the reason for that is because they didn’t pay close attention in class. Driver’s education gets new future drivers prepared for what’s going to happen on the road. When I took the on the wheel test I was super anxious about driving on the interstate. Overall my teacher taught me where to go and how to read the signs on the interstate.
While driving people should always be cautious of their surroundings. Therefore sometimes there is some wildlife, pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcycles that you should be aware of. To reduce fatal car crashes then drivers should always be paying close attention to the road and avoid driving if they’re tired. New drivers should avoid having any loud music, lots of passengers, and any other distractions while driving. All passengers should wear both straps of their seatbelt, and follow the speed limit when driving.
My parents would sometimes leave the party drunk and drive us home. My heart kept pounding because I thought about the incidents that would have happened. If I was sitting in the passenger seat and saw the driver driving reckless and careless then I would speak up to correct the driver. If the driver is drunk then I would consider them to drink some water and take a cab back home. I’ve been in a car accident with my step-dad once and he hit a deer. I believe the reason why he got into an accident was because he was driving while on his phone and not being alert of any wildlife. Also he could’ve turned his high-beam headlights on because at that time there were no other cars on the other side of the road.
As a person who is new to driving on the road, I’d always check the surroundings of the outside of the car before starting the car. The reason being is because if something was underneath my car and I’m going 70mph on the highway then that thing under my car could possibly fly out and hit other moving vehicles. This is extremely dangerous because it could cause their windows to shatter and possibly be in a car crash. While driving you should not be depending on how fast other drivers are driving. You should always stay in the right lane while driving because the left lane is the passing lane. If a vehicle were to pass you then they would enter the passing lane and accelerate their speed to pass you, and you should always remain the same speed while they pass you. If you were passing a car you should always check their rearview mirrors and look over your shoulders to see if any other vehicles are approaching you. If no other vehicles are approaching then they may switch lanes. If you are driving and there’s an ambulance behind you then you should find a safe spot to yield to the side to let the ambulance through. You should also use the 3 seconds rule when passing the other vehicle. This allows you, the driver, a good amount of time to check what’s behind your vehicle and be cautious of any cars next to your vehicle that’s ready to pass you.
