Driving is one of the most convenient and needed functions that humans used on the daily. The importance of driver education is important for not only drivers but anyone who is over the age of fifteen. There are many steps that must be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving such as implementing different places where it is required that a course must be taken on driver education. I have never been in a car accident but have seen my friends and family driving irresponsibility. Some steps I can personally take to be a better and safer driver as well as help other become safer on the road is to ensure that I and other drivers educated themselves on what is needed while driving along as enforcing rules within my family and friends. Drivers’ education is important for all drivers or people who step into a vehicle with a driver.

Driver education reduces the number of deaths because of driving because the driver is educated on what they can and cannot do. Being educated is important for the safety of yourself and others. Ensuring that individuals assign a designated driver to ensure that all passengers are safe is a key when people decide to drink. It is also important to note that you do not get into a car if the driver has been drinking or driving, as this can put your life in danger. Making sure that you and all others are wearing a seatbelt is important, many people die simply because they are not wearing a seatbelt. Studies show that there has been people who survive simply because they had their seatbelt on. Also not allowing an intoxicated individual to drive, instead order a car service to take them home. Driver’s education is especially important when it comes to someone’s life. Learning about the rules that come with driving allows for individuals to not make those mistakes and in turn lowers accident and death rates.

There are steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving like implementing different places where it is required that a course must be taken on driver education. Also mandating those drivers do yearly exams over driver education. Places such as high school, high school is the time that students start to drive. If they were to teach driver education withing the school, then from the start students would drive safer. A long-lasting impact would result from a few simple lessons. If high schools were to emphasis the importance, then students would understand the consequences if they did not follow the rules. Specifically in Texas high schools, test can be regulated to ensure that an understanding of what is expected comes from the students. By regulating individuals do yearly or bi-yearly refreshers on driver education, then more impact will happen. With these steps in place, we can ensure safer roads for everyone.

I have never been in a car accident, but I have been in a car with friends and family who were driving irresponsibility. I remember driving with one of my cousins who didn’t have a driver’s license, he only had a permit. I have also driven with some family and friends on multiple occasions who were texting and driving, weren’t wearing a seatbelt, and were intoxicated. These are the more common mistakes that many people commit daily. I will ashamedly mention that I am guilty of some of these too. Yet, I did take driving courses. I do not purposely answer text or forget to put my seat belt, but it happens. I think that people believe that their actions will not have major consequences, this is the “it won’t happen to me” way of thinking. The only way to truly commit to these rules is to be reminded.

Some steps I can personally take to be a better and safer driver as well as help other become safer on the road is to ensure that I and other drivers educated themselves on what is needed while driving. Also, by enforcing rules within my family and friends. Enforcing rules within myself and those around me will influence and push them to do the same. For example, not driving until all passengers have a seatbelt, or not getting into a car with someone who is intoxicated or taking the phone away from an individual who is texting. Therefore, spreading driver’s education. This ensures the safety of all others around them. Not only does it protect the driver but the individuals driving with them. Being educated is not only smart but needed to operate any type of vehicle. You would not want to let a doctor fix your leaky pipe, would you? No, you want a plumber to fix your leaky pipe. Meaning that you want the educated person to take charge because they know the rules and how to run what is needed. Implementing rules around my bubble of friends and family is the best way to spread driver education and ensure that they and others are safe.

Driver’s education is important for all people who plan to or are driving. Without these rules and guidelines, chaos and tragedy will strike for many people. By being informed, then less deaths while driving will happen. With direct experience in lack of using driving education from myself, family, and friend’s danger was casted upon me and them. By educating and enforced rules to family and friends about driver’s education less accidents will happen. Driver’s education is important to keep all drivers and others safe.
