The responsibility Of Driving

I believe that the importance of driver education is huge because from experience I know that taking driving classes gives the experience and knowledge needed to be more cautious when driving. One Experience that I can share is that my driving instructor told me to look at the intersection before crossing it on the car even though the light is green because as we know there are sometimes cars that although the light is red they keep crossing and I feel this tip can make me less likely to have an accident. I think that driver education can impact the way we drive and help to reduce the chances of having an accident because it teaches us how to act in serious situations.

I feel that steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths are to take driving education when first learning to drive because in that way we start to practice habits that will help us to be cautious when we drive. Another step that I feel should be taken is to raise awareness on how driving under the influence of substances and distracted driving are the main causes that cause accidents in which we are in danger of dying. I want everybody to understand that it just takes one second of not paying attention to what is happening on the road to cause an accident.

I am lucky until now because I had not experienced a car accident but I had seen how family members drive irresponsibly and it felt really bad because you see how they are not respecting the rules and are more likely to get into an accident plus I felt that I was going to die. My experience was one time when my fathers allowed my aunt to take me home from my grandmother’s house and she was driving fast and in the curves, it looked like she was going to get off the road. I was like 8 years old and the experience was really scary to me.

Steps that I consider that I can take to be a better driver are always cautious when crossing an intersection and when passing lanes. I would say to take extra time when traveling so that I am not in a hurry and start driving irresponsibly without following the rules. Avoid anything that would distract me while driving like my phone and pet. I would recommend the same for others: that we all monitor our driving habits and recognize if we are doing things that are irresponsible and make the effort to change them obviously with time and practice. I would also say to think before we drive how we can affect our passengers mentally and physically. Make sure before we go that everything is good, the tires have air, the kids have the seatbelt and we turn off our phone or put it on silent while we drive.
