Driving in a crazy world

In this Essay I would like to discuss; what’s the importance of driver education and how does it help reduce the number of deaths? In my opinion its crucial to educate young drivers through drivers training. I did not see the importance of drivers training; my mom and grandfather have been teaching me how to drive for years now. Constantly showing me how to be a defensive driver (meaning make sure I drive for myself and others). Also, to make sure I keep my eyes on the road (not a distracted driver).

However, when I was able to attend Drivers Training my thought process was broaden by the information received. When I first got to drivers training, we all had to take an eye test to make sure we could see good. Then the instructor gave everyone a road book for us to study in. Inside the roadbook were different sections like signs, pavement markings, signals, traffic laws, how to share the road etc. We also watched videos of people driving good and bad, then it explained what happened if the driver did something bad. Also, we did worksheets every week and took small driving lessons. We had to take five driving tests before our written test. The five tests were: side streets, main street, roundabouts, parking, and freeway. Then after four weeks of drivers training everyone had to take their written test, if you passed you got your permit and was done with drivers training until segment 2.

You may ask yourself; how does all this information tie in to reduce the number of deaths? The U.S. Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that there are at least 3,400 deaths annually from distracted-driving crashes in which drivers lost focus on the safe control of their vehicles due to manual, visual or cognitive distractions. Therefore, “Teens taking driver education are less likely to be involved in crashes or to receive a traffic violation during their first two years of driving,” the researchers concluded. “Because teen crashes and fatality rates are highest at ages 16-18, these reductions are especially meaningful.

Another way to reduce death is to obey traffic laws and steer clear of alcohol and drugs. Everyone needs to obey the traffic laws no matter what. So many people in this world cause accidents or deaths just because they don’t follow the laws. People should not be running red lights because when the other person has a green light they are going to go. Which means whoever is running the red light will hit the other person. In Addition, you should never drive while intoxicated; many people lose their lives because of this. Either the person driving loses their life or the person that got hit does or both. The best way to prevent this is if you are to drunk; call an uber or lyft or even a friend. Also, the most important thing that will prevent death is wearing your seatbelt. You should always wear your seatbelt no matter if it’s a short drive or a long drive. Seat belts prevent drivers and passengers from being ejected during a crash. People not wearing a seat belt are 30 times more likely to be ejected from a vehicle during a crash. More than 3 out or 4 people who are ejected during a fatal crash die from their injuries.

What steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road? A good way to be a good driver is to Anticipate the actions of others – Good drivers, drive defensively. They identify cues to behavior that help them predict how other drivers will act or react. Many drivers often act without thinking or communicating, so you must learn to search for clues. Additionally, you should Make a conscious effort to develop your driving skills-Just because you have your license doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stop learning. When driving always be thinking about your surroundings and paying attention to the road. The more you take driving seriously, the better driver you will become, and you will be safe as well.

What is the goal of the driver?

• The main responsibility of a Personal Driver is to transport clients to their destinations in a safe and comfortable fashion. An exceptional driving record is a necessity, and any additional qualities should be highlighted in your resume objective so that a potential employer knows what you offer to the company.
